Student Athletes give their time to Mission

The sentiments of the student led team on choosing HRM. "The student athlete leadership team here at Springfield College has been wondering about what we could do to impact our community using our influence as student athletes. We bounced around ideas that had some global impacts and even some where it felt like we were just throwing money at a cause without any personal involvement. After some thought we decided to roll up our sleeves and get involved in something that would have a lasting impact. We decided on the Hartford Rescue Mission. In our own backyards are where the need is most felt, right down the road there are those who are lost, and in our hands we hold the key to making their lives better. "

Thank you to the college athletes who gave of their time on Sunday, March 20, the day they came back from Spring Break, to journey to Hartford to help us clear out our former location at 710 Windsor Street. ¬†Students led by Gregory Woods, II the group’s President loaded furniture, furnishings and office and kitchen equipment onto a U-Haul truck at 710 then unloaded it, moving items into place at 650 Windsor Street, ¬†Students worked diligently throughout the afternoon then enjoyed a “mission style” meal before heading back to Springfield.
